At the end of April we had a team trip down to London to bring back amazing new eyewear for our clients here in the North East.
After what seemed like such a long time (a little over 2 years to be more exact!) the UK optical industry held it’s first international trade fair showcasing the very best in new eyewear, style, lens technology and state of the art equipment. It was so good to see old friends and make some new ones too as we looked for the latest independent eyewear.
It gave us a chance to see so many new frames from the leading independent and niche eyewear design houses not only throughout Europe but the rest of the world too.
And wow! Did it deliver!
We have found some amazing new pieces and can’t wait for you to see them.
One to mention is a new range we’ve taken on from the Netherlands, Dutz Eyewear. It is so fresh in terms of design and colour. We got to sit down and spend time with Mr Dutz himself (he’s at the back of the photo with the thumbs up), who talked with us about the design concepts, his use of shape and subtle use of colours to suit so many different types of style personality and colour types. And the best news? They’ve started arriving into the practices already so you can come and see them now!
We did of course have a great time over the weekend. It was a work trip but we definitely enjoyed ourselves. We didn’t have time to go sightseeing in London as we were too busy to be tourists, the furthest we got was a 5 minute walk from the ExCel exhibition centre and hotel to have an amazing Chinese meal at Yi-Ban. If you happen to be in London docklands and are looking for a place to eat we can highly recommend it – especially if you like areoplanes – it's directly opposite London City Airport on the river with a brilliant view.
