Wow, can you believe we are 21? No, we can't either, we don't look a day over 20! To help us celebrate and as we love our eyewear you're invited to join us at two very special eyewear event days.
These days are taking place on Friday 11th October in Durham and Tuesday 15th October in Newton Aycliffe when we will be hosting a whole range of Eyewear collections as a birthday treat!
We will be hosting the entire range of some of our favourite eyewear brands including Dutz, RES/REI, Vanni and La Font.
We'll also have our friendly eyewear ambassador, Duncan, on hand to show case the best that these brands have to offer and to answer any questions you may have about any of the frames.
And what is even better there will be exclusive discounts available on all these eyewear collections through the day!
During the event our team will be available to guide you through finding your new glasses using our unique eyewear style consultation.
These will only be available by appointment so please call the team or click to book yours so you don't miss out.
.
And to say thank you for joining us you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a meal for 2 at our neighbour Bell's fish and chip restaurant. There'll also be treats and plenty of drinks available through the day.

Dutz eyewear comes to us straight form the Oss in the Netherlands. Dutz is Holland's boldest eyewear brand. It was founded in 2005 and their designs have gone from strength to strength - everything they do comes straight from their philosophy that "buying a frame should be fun!" And you can tell;
The designs are colourful, fun and interesting - all the hallmarks of handmade Dutch eyewear.
If you are more of a classic eyewear style personality (you can take our style personality test on the day to find out), Dutz still manage to mix classic shapes and looks with a little extra colour to give a modern lift.

Vanni is exceptionally beautiful hand made Italian eyewear with a surprising history.
The journey started in 1929 with Giovanni Vitaloni, who found his purpose in suppling mechanical components to the new born Italian automotive industry, based in Turin. Fast forward to the late 60's and 70's and the family run company had become the leader in manufacturing rear view mirrors. In the mid 80's Alberto Vitaloni, created a new company to work in the eyewear sector. In 1987 they created the Vanni eyewear brand, in honour of Giovanni Vitaloni, who was known as "Vanni" to his friends.
Many eyewear brands will buy the same acetate sheets to make their frames but Vanni produce their own exclusive acetate colours and blends which makes their frames truly exclusive. This doesn't mean that their metal work should be dismissed, innovative manufacturing means their titanium frames and beautiful yet amazingly strong.

RES/REI are also hand made in Italy. There is so much attention to detail that go into creating a RES/REI frame that the quality is second to none.
They also have a manifesto setting out the core values and inspiration behind their collections. Here is the opening part;

CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Our number of 5 star reviews is always growing. Here is what some of our current clients have to say
We have used Village Optician for a few years now. Having tried the usual High St opticians previously, we find them very professional, friendly, nothing is too much trouble, and they take time to explain any issues. It is refreshing not to be rushed and feel pressured into buying new spectacles at every visit.
The Hudspeths
I visited the Village opticians recently and today collected my new glasses. From the first meeting with the staff to collecting my glasses what a fantastic experience everyone has been so friendly and helpful. I explained I had a problem getting a frame to fit correctly, they told me It wouldn’t be a problem they could sort it. This is the first time I have gone to collect glasses and have them fit first time also the lens they recommended are great. I saw the reviews on line before I visited this opticians and can say I agree with their comments. Your eyesight is precious and this opticians go the extra mile to make sure you receive the best treatment.
